Ignacio Herrera is our Hispanic Mission Pastor.  God is using his gifts and talents to reach and shepherd our Hispanic community through worship services, small groups, and the AGAPE Bible Institute.  In January 2007, East Cooper Baptist Church, and First Baptist Mt. Pleasant, teamed with CBC in reaching the Hispanic community.  They meet for worship in the Hispanic chapel (white building directly behind the main building).  The name of their church is Iglesia Evangélica- La Luz del Mundo.  They are reaching people in John’s Island, Summerville, N. Charleston, and Mt. Pleasant.  Their strategy is to start small groups throughout the Tri-county area, with hopes of some of those becoming church plants.

IGNACIO HERRERA

After high school, he joined the Marine Corps were he served for 8 years.  By the end of his tour of duty he was also able to finish his studies at Biola University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership.  He continued his theological training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and earned a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages.  He has also gained experience serving as a student minister and associate pastor. He was born and raised in the heart of Texas (Dallas).  His parents are from Mexico.  His wife Shanira is from Panama, and they have a two young daughters, Shadia and Sharon.  He says their pastime has become watching Dora the Explorer and playing ring-around-the-rosy.  "Dios le bendiga"
