Roger and I came to Rock Hill in 1978 to open Catawba Animal Clinic.  Our family became members of First Baptist Church and has loved being a part of the First Baptist Church "Family of Faith". I was born in Atlanta , Georgia , but grew up in Greenwood, South Carolina. My parents, Lewis and Mary Cheek, were the biggest influence in my life and in my becoming a Christian.  The excitement that I had then continues to grow and sharing that excitement with children is the most important part of this ministry.

Roger and I met at Clemson University in the registration line (that was before everything was done by computers!). We married in 1974 while Roger was a student in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. I graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. in Elementary Education and later received a Master of Liberal Arts from Winthrop University.

We are the proud parents of our children, Katie, Ryan and his wife Lindsay.  As a family we enjoy traveling and seeing new things and of course anything CLEMSON!

At First Baptist Church I am over the Preschool and Children's Ministries. This covers children and their parents , bed babies - 5th grade. It is such a joy and a privilege to work with each of them and to serve Him! Each one is a special gift and I treasure the time I have with them.
