Our New Land in 1996

When First Baptist purchased our new land in 1996, the area around it looked very different than it does today.  Manchester Village didn't exist and Manchester Meadows, the city's soccer complex at Dave Lyle Boulevard and Mt. Gallant Road, was just a dream in the mind of some city planners.  The intersection of Dave Lyle Boulevard with Hood Center and Mt. Gallant Roads had not been constructed.  The owners of the 52 acres we purchased had hoped to develop a business park on the property, but that plan had not succeeded. 

But God knew the future and He had a plan for His people called First Baptist Church.  We believe He gave us this land.  These pictures show what it was like then.
