Sunbeams Day School

At Sunbeams Day School, we believe God made each child special. In our program, we emphasize God's unconditional love. We strive to show God's love in our actions as well as in our curriculum. We incorporate music, art, Bible, chapel, field trips, and classroom experiences to teach the child. Children are a precious gift from God. We appreciate the opportunity to share God's love with your child. While we teach the academic child, our priority is on the spiritual child and what God can do with the knowledge and abilities he gives each of us. Schedule & Cost

Our preschool program operates Monday through Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. until noon, with an optional Mothers Morning Out on Fridays. The Monday through Thursday program includes two, three and four day classes based on an academic curriculum by WeeLearn, a Lifeway Christian Ministries Publication. Fridays is a structured program with theme based activities Early bird drop off: Parents may sign up prior to each month to use this option. Early drop off begins at 8:00 am daily. Children are walked into the classroom for supervised free play until 8:50 am. Cost is $2.00 per day, Monday - Friday

Day School Classes

Beginners Class

Our beginners, ages 15 months to 2 years, need to be walking and drinking from a sipper cup independently. Classroom activities include circle time, art, gym free play and snacks. Keeping development in mind, the class goals emphasize social skills. Learning to sit for snacks and circle time, manners (saying "please" and "thank you"), sharing and learning "I am special" are the primary goals. Children are exposed to colors, animals, shapes and holidays. Music, exercise, books and art projects are incorporated to enhance the child's learning experience. Class is limited to 12 children with teacher and assistant.

Twos

Like our beginner class, social skills are emphasized with our twos. Children sit for snacks and circle time, enjoy gym and free play and begin "center" play time (block center, etc.). In addition to colors, shapes, animals and holidays, numbers are introduced. Bible stories are included in circle time. Children learn to walk in line, and follow simple directions. Class is limited to 12 children with a teacher and assistant.

Threes

The 3-year-old begins to participate in our enrichment classes. One day a week, the children attend a 20-30 minute music class. Every other week, they attend an art class. Classroom time includes daily devotions, calendar unit themes and the alphabet. Music, art projects, books and field trips are incorporated as learning tools. Class is limited to 14 children with a teacher and assistant.

Fours

The primary goal of our 4-year-old program is to prepare the child for kindergarten. Writing skills are emphasized with letter and number formation. Circle time includes letter and number recognition, devotions, calendar, weather, pledges to the flag and unit themes. The children enjoy music, and weekly Chapel. Class is limited to 16 children with a teacher and assistant.
