Q: What is Thy Kingdom Come?
A: Thy Kingdom Come is a process designed to help churches spiritually prepare for a better future.
Q: What's so unique about Thy Kingdom Come?
A: Several things. First, the basic characteristics of Thy Kingdom Come are not like any planning process you've seen. Thy Kingdom Come is:
- Spiritually based. It is not another process borowed from the business world and adapted to fit church life.
- Future-oriented. This process helps churches focus on the future God has planned for them, their next chapter of ministry.
- Church-friendly. It is based on what churches do: worship, evangelism, missions, etc.
- Kingdom-based. Thy Kingdom Come focuses on Kingdom growth, not just what goes on inside the local church.
- Focused on strengths instead of weaknesses. It helps you discover and develop your strengths, and manage your weaknesses.
- Integrated. Each section is connected to the main theme of being spiritually prepared.
- Not dependent on a consultant. Thy Kingdom Come belongs to the church.
- Simple. The process is easy to follow.
Q: What else is so unique about it?
A: Unlike planning processes borrowed from the business world, Thy Kingdom Come directly addresses the six areas of church life: worship, evangelism, spiritual growth, ministry development, congregational life, and missions. From beginning to end, Thy Kingdom Come is about God's leading of His church toward His future.
Q: Tell me about the materials available.
A: Thy Kingdom Come comes in two different packages: A workshop/workbook format subtitled "Preparing Your Church for Kingdom Growth," and a more intensive package subtitled "Fast-Forwarding Your Church's Future."
Q: What's the difference?
A: The workbook helps church leaders clarify their vision and values, determine future Kingdom results, identify and develop strengths, and create intentional learning processes. A two -hour workshop, will show you how to use the workbook The more intensive package takes about four to six months for a church to complete in order to prepare for its next ministry chapter. The process examines the six areas of church life: worship, evangelism, spiritual growth, ministry development, congregational life, and missions. Resources include a work-book, coaching video, Bible study lesson, and congregation-wide survey instrument. A futuring group in the congregation leads this process.
Q: How does it work?
A: Thy Kingdom Come has five key architectural components: spiritual preparation, vision/values, results, strengths, and learnings. The material addresses each of these concepts in detail, and helps leaders apply them to your church, in your ministry context. The material for the intensive 4-6 month process helps a futuring group from your congregation envision a more specific next chapter of ministry, and determine how to bring that future into the here and now. This version of Thy Kingdom Come should be used by congregations willing to reexamine their ministry practices to become more effective in kingdom growth.
Q: Is this hard to do?
A: Because it is a fun and simple way to think about the future, Thy Kingdom Come doesn't wear out the pastor and leaders when going through the process.
Q: How can my church get started on this?
A: Along the left side of this site you will find a list of states who are licensed to assist you and your church. Simply click below on your state, if listed. If you state is not listed, select "All Other States."
