What is Trinity Baptist Church's Mission Plan?
Taking the Good News of Jesus through the written Word, the spoken word and by living example of those in our world who do not have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
God's command to us as Christians
Just before Jesus ascended to heaven, he told the disciples, "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts Chapter 1, verse 8). Of all the many statements or commands Jesus could have made as his final words on earth, He chose to tell the disciples to go out and show the world the love and hope of Jesus Christ. This charge is at the very heart of Jesus' desire for us as Christians, and it is also the basis for missions here at Trinity Baptist Church.
Jesus was the ultimate missionary in that He was with God the Father in heaven and willingly chose to take the form of a man and die for our sins in order to reunite us with God. Our heart at Trinity Baptist Church is to live our lives as Jesus Christ did and take the love and hope of Jesus Christ to those who do not know about Him, especially those who have no access to the Word of God - the Bible.
Our History of Service
Trinity Baptist Church attempts to fulfill this mission by using an Acts 1:8 strategy: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Trinity Baptist Church parallels the meaning of this verse to present times and location. Therefore, Trinity's mission is to carry the message and Biblical teachings of Jesus Christ to our community and immediate area around our community (Jerusalem), the broader proximity to the local church, such as our region and state (Judea), the United States (Samaria), and to foreign countries around the world (the ends of the earth).
